Vitamix Smoothie Recipes
The Vitamix blender is a terrific appliance and I believe every household should have one. Below are some smoothie recipes that are perfect for the Vitamix. That blender is extremely powerful and capable of making any type of smoothie you want. It excels at blending even the hardest vegetables and even nuts and seeds. A Selection of Vitamix Smoothie Recipes:
Recipe: Kiwi Super Smoothie
Summary: Kiwi, spinach, pineapple, banana, sesame seeds and coconut water
INGREDIENTS
- 2 T of Sesame Seeds (pulverize these first)
- 2 Kiwis (peeled)
- handful of spinach
- slice of pineapple (frozen is even better)
- banana (frozen is best)
- 1 cup of canned Coconut Water (no sugar added)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Blend the Sesame Seeds in the Vitamix first before adding anything else (the container needs to be dry for them to blend well.)
- Add other ingredients.
- Add more Coconut Water if necessary for it to blend.
- Garnish with a slice of Kiwi.
- If needed you can add a little Agave Nectar or Honey.
Preparation time:
Number of servings (yield): 2
Recipe: Healthy Mary Smoothie
Summary: This is like a Bloody Mary, only healthier.
INGREDIENTS
- 4 whole tomatoes (or 2 cups canned tomatoes)
- 2 stalks of celery
- 1 large carrot
- 1 cup of spinach
- 1/2 cup water (more or less until it blends easily)
- 1/2 cup ice (optional)
- dash of dill pickle juice
- 1/8 tsp. celery salt
- 1 tsp. Worchestershire sauce
- dash of tobasco (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Blend together with enough ice water to get it to blend well.
- If you like it more of a smoothie, add ice and blend. If you’d like it more thinner you can serve it over ice.
- Depending on if you like your bloody mary saltier, add more or less celery salt and Worchestershire sauce.
- You could also add a whole pickle to get the flavor if you wanted.
- Garnish with celery or a pickle.

Recipe: Citrus Smoothie
Summary: Grapefruit, orange and pineapple make up this smoothie recipe.
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 grapefruit (peeled)
- 1 orange (peeled)
- 1 thick slice of pineapple (frozen)
- 1/2 cup ice water (or till it blends well)
INSTRUCTIONS
- I like to freeze my pineapple. I buy a whole pineapple, cut it into thick slices and freeze. That way I have them on hand to add sweetness and that frozen texture I like.
- With the Vitamix or other power blender, you don’t have to worry about the seeds.
